While the roots of Formula One go back to the European Grand Prix championships of the 20’s and 30’s, it was only in 1946 that the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile’s (FIA’s) standardised the rules. This was followed in 1950 by the inaugural season of FIA Formula One World Championship races which remains the foremost motor racing event in the world.
The ‘formula’ referred to in the title, includes a set of specifications and rules to which all participants and their cars must conform. For example, the chassis of a Formula One sport car can be no more than 200 cm wide and 95 cm tall although there is no formal restriction on length.
The German Grand Prix is a automobile race that has been held most years since 1926, with 75 races having been held. Since then the most driver wins going to Rudolf Caracciola and most constructor wins going to Ferrari.
