While the roots of Formula One go back to the European Grand Prix championships of the 20’s and 30’s, it was only in 1946 that the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile’s (FIA’s) standardised the rules. This was followed in 1950 by the inaugural season of FIA Formula One World Championship races which remains the foremost motor racing event in the world.
The Austrian Grand Prix is a Federation Internationale de l’Automobile sanctioned auto race which was held in 1964, 1970–1987 and 1997–2003. The Grand Prix returned to the Formula One calendar in 2014.
Alain Prost has most driver wins, while McLaren has most constructor wins at Austrian Grand Prix.
