Last year’s Six Nations kicked off with the Scotland Ireland game in a packed out Murrayfield Stadium. Of course, Scotland won and the home crowd were ecstatic. What a start to the Championship! This was the first time in over a decade that Scotland had won their opening Six Nations match and it was also the recovery of the Centenary Quaich which they had last had in their possession in 2013 – the last time they beat Ireland.
Of course all celebrations at Murrayfield last year fell on stony ears as far as the Irish are concerned. They want the quaich back and are determined to regain it in front of their own home crowd in Aviva Stadium on 10th March 2018.
