France played its first test match in 1906 in Paris. Their rivals on that historic event were New Zealand’s All Blacks. On that occasion, New Zealand won 38-8. It took nearly half a century since that day for France to win against New Zealand with a 3-0 win in 1954.
Last year was New Zealand’s 10th consecutive victory over France, and they retained the Dave Gallagher Trophy for the fourth consecutive time.
