The spectacular Chelsea Flower Show inspires landscape gardeners and backdoor gardeners alike. It is the most prestigious flower show in the world and is a joy for all the senses – especially in 2017 when the feel-good gardens were unveiled in celebration of five senses of taste, touch, sight, sound and smell. Formally known as The Great Spring Show, it has been held in Chelsea since 1912, put on for 5 days in May each year by the Royal Horticultural Society in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
The show is attended by 157,000 people each year, including members of the royal family who come along to a private preview to show their support and royal patronage. There are an enormous 11 acres of grounds in which to wander and admire beautiful gardens in categories like breathtaking Show Gardens, Fresh Gardens, Artisan Gardens and more.
Gold, Silver-Gilt, Silver and Bronze medals are awarded to the winning garden designers in many different categories including Gardens, Great Pavilion, Floristry, Floral Arrangement, Portfolio Photography and Tradestands.
