Legendary musician Nile Rodgers and his band Chic are heading to Lytham Festival for an uber cool night of disco, hip hop and rock.
Nile and Chic will headline the Main Proms Arena on Lytham Green on Saturday July 21.
And they will be supported by special guests 80s pop chart-toppers Bananarama and Grammy Award winners Soul II Soul.
Sonic innovator and Grammy Award winner Nile Rodgers was last year inducted into the Rock’n’Roll Hall Of Fame. A hugely successful song-writer and producer in his own right, and with Chic, Nile has rocked beyond the boundaries of disco with inimitable guitar riffs fundamental to hip hop, rock and electronic dance music.
With hits throughout the 80s including Really Saying Something, Cruel Summer and Love In The First Degree, Bananarama enjoyed huge success in both the pop and dance charts earning them a listing in the Guinness World Records as the all-female group with the most chart entries in the world.
Soul II Soul are best known for their 1989 UK chart-topper and US Top 5 hit Back To Life (However Do You Want Me) and Keep On Movin’ which reached number 5 in the UK. They have won two Grammy Awards and have been nominated for five Brit Awards.
