André Rieu has announced a massive UK and Ireland tour for December 2018, with the classical polymath and ‘king of the waltz’ set to play nine arena shows. T
Joined by his 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra, the Dutchman is known for putting on an extravagant show, showing off his skills as a musician but injecting a sense of fun into the performance too.
He kicks off his time in the UK and Ireland at Belfast’s SSE Arena on Thu 6 Dec, taking the show to Belfast the following night.
The tour continues in the mainland with a massive show at London’s SSE Wembley Arena, heading to Birmingham, Liverpool, Nottingham, Manchester and Newcastle, finishing up at Glsagow’s SSE Hydro Arena on Sat 22 Dec.
Rieu says: ‘Spending the Christmas season in the UK and Ireland with such fantastic fans makes me feel very grateful and pleased every year.
‘People write to me, telling me that it takes them two weeks to get back to normal after one of our concerts. It is simply fantastic to feel this energy and joy every evening.’
