English indie/alternative rockers, Kasabian got together in late 1990’s and by early 2000’s were already setting the music press alight with comparisons to the Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and Primal Scream.
Lead singer Tom Meighan is known to be no shrinking violet. His swaggering on-stage presence and snappy comebacks during interviews ensured Kasabian early attention in the the press. By 2004 the hype was enough that their debut album broke into the exalted top 5 within a month of its UK release.
Following albums Empire in 2006, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum in 2009, Velociraptor in 2011, 48:13 in 2014, For Crying Out Loud in 2017 have all been well received.
The band toured earlier in 2017 garnering rave reviews, including the following fulsome praise from Betty Clarke at The Guardian:
“The show is a hurtling, hedonistic joyride steered by a band fuelled by passion and at the peak of their powers. ”
